Ulm, 20th August 2008 — FRITZ & MACZIOL : INFOMA® consolidates the constant expansion of solutions on offer yet again. As part of the Dutch technology concern Imtech N.V. the Ulm company group took over STAS GmbH on 1st january 2008. The software company is now a 100-percent subsidiary of FRITZ & MACZIOL : INFOMA®. Company name, management, team and structures remain unaltered. Under the leadership of the previous Managing Directors, Uwe Schulze and Siegfried Wolf, the supplier of Business Intelligence solutions (BI) and Corporate Performance Management solutions (CPM) will also act independently in the future and continue the successful product strategy of the past. STAS as a software company in the BI market is one of the Top-3 Platinum Partners of Cognos. A fundamental goal of the recent takeover is to create synergy effects to the advantage of the customer by expanding the company’s portfolio.
For Oliver Schallhorn, Managing Director of FRITZ & MACZIOL, and Oliver Couvigny, Managing Director of INFOMA®, the takeover decision marks another step on the road to “systems company of the future”: “Parallel to the successfully performed comprehensive expansion in the D-A-CH region over the last few years, we have always oriented ourselves by the themes defined and requested by the market and the customer. Our strategy is always to offer the customer an optimum solution from one source. Therefore, thematic acquisitions are the right path to meet customer requirements quickly and with certified know-how. With STAS we have found a highly skilled specialist with whom we can accelerate the focus theme of Business Intelligence in a target and market-oriented way.”
Founded in 1991, the software company STAS GmbH, which operates in the German-speaking area with around 50 staff at head office Reilingen (Germany) near Heidelberg and in an Austrian office, sells its solutions predominantly to medium-sized companies, though large companies are also part of the customer base. The company currently has a customer base of around 600. STAS, the most recent subsidiary of the FRITZ & MACZIOL : INFOMA® company group, has made a name for itself with its own in-house, successfully established BI solution STAS CONTROL. The modular management software offers medium-sized companies support in planning, analysis and controlling. All relevant data, figures and trends can be evaluated using different criteria and can be considered from different perspectives. STAS CONTROL has interface solutions for standard ERP systems, as well as special modules, e.g. for the car industry, banking, industry/retail, financial services. STAS CONTROL is based on the technology of manufacturers Cognos (IBM) and Microsoft. Existing partnerships/cooperations will be continued in their current and proven form.
These were important criteria with regard to positioning of the future theme Business Intelligence for both the recently certified Cognos partner FRITZ & MACZIOL and the Microsoft Gold Certified Partner INFOMA®. As a result of the takeover, the company directors are expecting extensive synergies for both sides and, thus, lasting added value for customers. FRITZ & MACZIOL can offer STAS customers individual complete solutions from one source for all IT themes with its complete range of services for hardware, software and services from leading manufacturers. In contrast, STAS has the opportunity to offer its practical product for target-oriented BI management to around 2,500 customers cared for by the 17 FRITZ & MACZIOL offices in the D-A-CH region.
STAS will also incorporate its expertise and know-how in the continued development of the Analysis and Control module for the INFOMA® product family newsystem® kommunal. The newly developed Analysis and Control System is a homogenous component of newsystem® kommunal and supports local authorities in operational administration and political decision-making.
STAS Managing Director Uwe Schulze: “With FRITZ & MACZIOL : INFOMA® and the parent group Imtech we have a strong foothold and corresponding opportunities to continue to grow through targeted expansion and further development of our BI solution. This gives us and our staff, and of course also our customers, security and long-term perspectives. And because we can now access the comprehensive know-how of all the FRITZ & MACZIOL and INFOMA® business areas, our customers are profiting substantially from the expansion of the IT portfolio.”
With this further investment in the software business field and specifically in the future theme of Business Intelligence, the Ulm company group FRITZ & MACZIOL : INFOMA® is meeting customers' increasing demands for universal solutions for optimum use of corporate data and information and, once again, is proving its expertise as a customer-oriented systems company of the future.
