- Another double-digit increase in turnover
- Workforce rises to 480 at 17 locations
- Acquisitions strengthen range of expertise
Ulm, 24th October 2007 — Once again, the Ulm-based FRITZ & MACZIOL Group has announced positive results. A review of the past nine months shows an increase in turnover of almost 40% compared to the same period last year, reaching around 110 million euros. Currently, the FRITZ & MACZIOL Group has a workforce of 480 employees whilst the number of branch offices has risen to 17 with the opening of its latest facility in Nuremberg in September. This means that close to 2,000 customers are now being looked after. Business activities through the three subsidiaries in Switzerland, Austria and the Philippines respectively are also continuing to develop very successfully. With these results, the FRITZ & MACZIOL Group – since 2006, part of the Dutch technology company Imtech N.V. – is maintaining the company´s course of expansion as experienced over the past number of years. |
The success factors of the continuously positive development of the group of companies can be found in the consistently pursued strategy of ensuring maximum levels of customer benefits through a comprehensive range of hardware, software and related services based on the concept of "everything from one source". Apart from the constant expansion of its branch office network which provides customers with combined areas of expertise available on a local basis, on-going investment in innovative products and services along with the know-how of a motivated and qualified team of staff members are the company´s top priorities.
In addition, through additional synergy-creating acquisitions during the past few months, the FRITZ & MACZIOL Group has been able to further strengthen their expertise in IBM-oriented business activities. In this respect, since April, the BMS Systems IT Solutions GmbH has been part of the F&M group of companies. This IBM Premier Partner focuses on the IBM Middleware sector and, through its range of services and products as well as its structure, creates an important prerequisite for boosting IBM software business
In Switzerland, too, the integration of a well-known IT company has strengthened the position of the FRITZ & MACZIOL subsidiary, Rosenheim AG. The acquisition of Interex AG has now made having a comprehensive range of solutions possible which is comprised of all IBM hardware and software product lines including services and the company´s own applications.
For the FRITZ & MACZIOL Group, full support for its expansion course is provided by its parent company, Imtech N.V. The growth strategy of the Ulm-based enterprise – an independently-operating part of the Imtech information technology (ICT) division - is an important step on the way to achieving Imtech´s goal of European market leadership in the areas of IBM and Microsoft.

FRITZ & MACZIOL Software und Computervertrieb GmbH
With the highest awards from its partner and global market leader, IBM, together with VMware, FRITZ & MACZIOL once again has proved its expertise and know-how in all innovative IT issues. The IBM Excellence Award 2007 which is only given to four partners worldwide for extraordinary performances, IBM Beacon Award for the "Best IBM System Storage Virtualisation Solution" and nomination as finalist for the "Best Information Management Solution" once more underline its position as Top 3 IBM Business partner in the area of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. VMware honoured FRITZ & MACZIOL with the “Best Proliferation Partner 2006” award in July and, along with long-standing partnerships as well as the numerous successfully realized customer projects, can demonstrate proven competence with VMware solutions.
The increasing demand by companies for solutions regarding process optimization and archiving – as was presented at the DMS Expo in Cologne - has caused, among other things, a disproportionate increase in the area of IBM software. Here, turnover has increased by around 80 % compared to the same period in the previous year.
Applications developed in-house have also proven to be particularly successful. One of the largest privately-owned German service providers in the waste management sector has very recently decided in favour for the eANV Portal from FRITZ & MACZIOL. In so doing, FRITZ & MACZIOL has taken on the position as market leader with the providers of electronic waste detection procedures
The high customer demand for specialist knowledge in SAP Technology Consultation & Remote Services in all areas (hardware, Middleware and SAP) has led to excellent results. Since the beginning of 2007, the team has been significantly expanded and is at customers´ disposal around the country on a local basis or through remote maintenance. Like almost all areas in the FRITZ & MACZIOL Group, this will also be further developed during the immediate future.
In the Region Süd, the opening of a second Bavarian office has just taken place. In addition to the Munich branch office and the headquarters in Ulm, customers in southern Germany now have access to a further eight staffers in the new Nuremberg office as contact persons for all IT requirements.
For Managing Directors, Heribert Fritz and Oliver Schallhorn, consistent pursuit of defined strategies is one of the main requirements for success: "By having a comprehensive range of expertise in the various regions, we can look after our customers with even more individual attention and implement projects much quicker. Receiving internationally recognized awards from leading manufacturers such as IBM and VMware speak volumes regarding our quality and continuity, as well as providing the maximum possible benefits for our customers. Naturally, this is also a clear competitive advantage for us."

Altogether, more than 700 administrative departments of all sizes – with around 40,000 users – work with INFOMA®.
The large interest in the future-oriented newsystem® kommunal solution was also demonstrated by the tremendous positive feedback from visitors attending the most important fairs such as KOMCOM Süd and KOMCOM NRW. Numerous local authorities that are currently in the process of deciding on which new system to use in future, used the opportunity to learn more about the functional innovations and enhancements of the current Version 4 of newsystem® kommunal on the stand itself or in the various workshops organised by INFOMA®.
Twice nominated as a finalist for the "Microsoft Partner of the Year Award 2007" in the category "Microsoft Dynamics NAV Partner of the Year" as well as the "Microsoft Dynamics Regional Partner of the Year Award 2007", INFOMA® affirmed its position once again as Microsoft Top Partner world-wide after being awarded the "Microsoft Partner Recognition Award" in the past year. The procedure has now also been successfully tested on the basis of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 5.0.
Within the further success strategy of INFOMA®, expansion of the branch office network likewise has a great importance. In the course of continuous investment in both the actual locations and employees, moving to new premises as well as enlarging the teams of specialists now became necessary at two offices. The Hildesheim branch moved its operations to Hanover whilst the office in Montabaur re-located to Limburg. At the same time, since the summer INFOMA® has been represented in the eastern part of the Federal Republic with another branch office – Rostock was the first. In Berlin, the company has moved into new premises of the already established FRITZ & MACZIOL office. By taking advantage of the synergy effects, customers in the region receive on request a state-of-the-art hard and software environment, with industry solutions and system integration from one source. Altogether, INFOMA® is now based at seven locations throughout Germany.
For safeguarding the company´s growth, the two managing directors, Eberhard Macziol and Oliver Couvigny, regard the steady development of the product, on the one hand, as the top priority whilst, on the other, the comprehensive know-how and vast experience of the staff members from numerous successfully realized projects are the most important pre-conditions in order to be in a position to develop a customised application for all local authorities. "Therefore, we will continue to invest as before to a considerable extent in both our product as well as the qualification and competence of our teams of experts."
